When the world went into a lockdown in 2020, different teams had to face different challenges. One such team was NASA's Mars exploration unit which controls the exploration of Mars by Curiosity Rover. Yes, Curiosity was already working remotely but the Earth team was co-located. • To study the 3-D images received from Mars, the operators had to use the red-blue 3-D glasses you get in cinemas!

  • They created multiple chat rooms to recreate the communication that happens when they are co-located.

  • On successful completion of a drilling experiment, they used to share donut holes. This time, they had to make do with sending donut emojis!
