Intrapreneurship’s Roots Deepen Inside Indian Orgs?

We have worked with companies on building intrapreneurs (entrepreneurs within a company). The word has been around since the mid-1980s, but it takes time for the future to be distributed evenly.

VMware, one of our clients, received an award for building intrapreneurial leaders, a journey to which we actively contribute. It looks like people are realising the difference between ‘innovation’ and ‘intrapreneurship’: the focus of the former term is on the company, while the latter term focuses on an individual.

That doesn’t mean intrapreneurs should be solo fliers. Teaching them to span boundaries and assumptions, while operating under the company's innovation charter, is a big part of switching on the intrapreneurial mindset.
