Not just reading, there are 3 important aspects for habit formation -

  1. Being deliberate

  2. Being consistent

  3. Having triggers and nudges to enforce the right behaviour

In order to do all three, you need to build a system / a daily routine, that will help you do this.

Some tips to do this -

  1. Start with reading for 10 -15 minutes every day

  2. Try reading a variety of genres so that boredom doesn’t set it

  3. Set a fixed time of the day that you will read ( after breakfast, before lunch, as soon as you wake up, at 11:00 am, etc.)

  4. Have someone you can account to/ report to - once you finish your daily reading

  5. Have the same person nudge you if you haven’t read in your scheduled slot

  6. Keep a journal and note down your takeaway from what you read ( this also acts as a trigger to read daily)
