Curious Comics

Who doesn’t love comics? (even the grumpy ones among us secretly like to look at a bunch of well-drawn panels). Explaining concepts via cartoons is a great way to spread knowledge. These three comics do this well:

  • xkcd: Randall Munroe on science, maths, and the occasional foray into ‘real’ life. Remember to hover on the strip.

  • Wizard Zines: Julia Evans on software engineering topics. Even if you are not into CS & IT, this is a great example of how to use simple cartoons to convey information.

  • SMBC’s ‘Soonish’: A scientist is married to a cartoonist. So they collaborated on a comic book on future trends. (With fun anecdotes!)
