Use this secret structure to uplevel your communication

(This is from Edition 59 of The Upleveler, our weekly smartletter)

"For sale: baby shoes, never worn."

Humans have been telling stories ever since they turned into humans. Be it like the six word story above (attributed to Ernest Hemingway) or doorstoppers like 'War and Peace'. Stories get attention, get remembered, get discussed, and are passed on.

Do you want to use stories to spread your ideas and communicate? To uplevel your story-telling, learn to use story structures - these are timeless constructs that make your narration solid and effective.

Ever noticed a structure to Pixar's stories? Here's their wonderfully useful outline:

The power of this structure?

You can use elements of it in any communication.

Let's say you wanted to use this to tell your product's story to a potential recruit. You could say: "Five years ago, there was no effective way for leaders to engage with their remote workers. Over time, their remote workers reported being more and more disengaged. Now, when they discovered our collaboration product, they are able to regularly track their engagement with employees. Because of that, engagement scores have gone up. Today, we have 25 MNC customers".

Try it out!
