How to be deliberate about making change happen?
Are you a leader who wants to introduce change to your team? Ever wish you knew how to influence changes without using a whip?
Do you have personal goals for yourself? Do you need to change any habits to meet them? How about a blueprint to successfully change them?
The best way to do these is to first build a solid mental model of how change happens and how habits can develop. You can then make deliberate change happen, instead of depending on ‘hope' as your only strategy!
There are many books on the topic of change. But two books that have stood out for us are:
- 'Switch: How to Change Things When Change is Hard' by Chip and Dan Heath
- ‘The Power of Habit’ by Charles Duhigg
Why? They are immensely practical. (We've used them quite a bit in our own work, and can vouch for this).
Both these books go hand in hand as they help you easily understand models of ‘change’ and ‘habits’. They also provide frameworks to apply in situations such as spreading innovation, improving personal productivity, and organisational change.
